Well well. We’ve agreed to take in yet another group of refugees. Little ole Aotearoa. As usual those bleeding heart liberals have put up their hands, yelled Pick me! Let me save the world! And never mind the rest of us who have to try to live with the riffraff they insist on bringing into the country.
Why? That’s the question none of this lot ever asks. Why does it fall on our shoulders to save the entire world? You’d think they’d be happy enough that we’ve taken in untold thousands of escapees from New York, China, India, France, Spain – practically the whole damn world.
But no – now we have to find housing, work, schooling, healthcare and god knows what else for a bunch of savages from a failed experiment. They knew what they were getting into when they agreed to the whole foolhardy idea. Probably thought they’d be the only survivors when the world did the predicted meltdown. Well – surprise! People of Taris, the world didn’t go up in smoke, but your brilliant new world is not going to last the distance. So pay the penalty. Stay on your island paradise and take what nature throws at you.
Willem Brasted and his naive crew of do-gooders are due to get to the paradise (for those educationally challenged readers, please note the use of sarcasm – you would probably just say yeah right) of Taris any day now. This writer is hoping that the wind will blow the place to matchwood before the ship arrives. Go, Mother Nature!

All we can hope for now, friends is that the Wahine will sink, complete with crew and that Taris mob they’ve rescued. But what gets me, and please correct me if I’m wrong here (haha small chance of that but let’s be fair): did these idiots actually want to be rescued?? I mean, come on! Don’t say you weren’t warned! Haven’t I been saying even before that boat of doom docked (and what a pity the whole thing didn’t go up in the explosion) that these people would bring trouble? Looks like the would-be bomb squad were right: bringers of disease they called them. But would anybody listen? No. Instead we send a ship to bring yet another pandemic down upon our heads.
It was a dark day indeed when the people of Taris set foot on the soil of Aotearoa. I predict worse to come. This pandemic is virulent and thanks to Taris we now have on our hands a rogue disease that’s about to run rampant through us all – adults and children.

Is it just my perceptive eye, folks – or do I detect a smidgen of uncertainty in BoatBoy’s latest offering? Must be difficult to keep a grip on a view so patently wrong. Poor BoatBoy – my heart bleeds for you.
I ask another question: where now are the much vaunted highly developed abilities of Taris? If they are as good as they are cracked up to be, then why, dear readers, haven’t they discovered a cure for this dread disease? I put it to you that they are all sitting around wailing and waiting for us to come to their aid.

Have you heard the latest outrage from Taris? You won’t believe it, folks but trust me, it’s true. That Vima woman has now been given a domestic helper!! The answer to that is a resounding NO.

While we await the next outrage from the Taris mob, I’ve used my valuable sleeping time to do some research for you about what sort of people these are. Let’s start with a posting or two put on the web about 12 years ago by their highly esteemed leaders of the time.

It is with deep sadness that I report that Elin, the one remaining youngster, passed away today. Such was his mother’s grief that she has taken her own life. I will spare you the details. So now we have no children under the age of 15 on Taris and none of the young couples have enough confidence in the future to risk having more children. Our island is doomed and the 44 of us who are left will live out our allotted span as best we can.
Which of course we now know was a pack of lies. Was there ever even a youngster called Elin? Somehow I doubt it.
Next post (2 weeks after the above). This one’s from Hortense Hilton aka Lenna the Liar, wife of Hilto the hopeless.

I can’t bear the sadness. Today our numbers are down to 38 and it seems that those who sicken no longer have the heart to fight. Of course, we as their leaders are doing all we can to encourage, support and help, but I fear it isn’t going to be enough.
We had a meeting today of those of us who are still well enough. I think it important to tell you that even given the desperation of our situation here not one of us has asked to be rescued. We know that you in the world outside are no better off than we are. We wish you well.
Again, a pack of lies. Points for creativity and evoking of emotion though. Very smart.
And the final post which is only 5 short weeks after that sob story from Hortense. This one’s from her hubby Gav aka Hilto.

We three are the sole survivors. We are still suffering acutely from the shock of the speed of this final epidemic. How we have managed to stay immune is a mystery. Majool, who has some expertise in medical matters, believes all the nursing we have done has given us immunity. Maybe. Although others worked just as diligently and they succumbed to the disease. It could be that our age protects us, although that would seem to be illogical given that the younger and fitter are the ones who are better equipped to fight illness.
As we now know people, all that is hogwash and lies. So my question is this: how can we trust any of the Taris mob? Those three were such fabricators and twisters of the truth, as we now know, and I’m picking that the rest of the mob is tarred with the same brush. Once a liar always a liar.

Nobody is going to suggest now that they’re innocent, pure as the driven snow, brave, courageous, etc, etc. Surely? Nobody now will be stupid enough to employ them. And ask yourself if you’d want to live next door to them. You’d never sleep easy in your beds.

On the other hand, we know how devious and duplicitous they are. Nothing they can do is going to surprise me. No, I’m wrong! If they did some tiny act that wasn’t self-serving, such as, say, helping an old lady across the road, that would surprise me. I’d be telling her to check her valuables the second they let go of her. If they did. They’d probably kidnap her too.

A little bird told me a most interesting snippet of news this morning, but I shall not keep you dangling in suspense, loyal readers.
A group of our so dear Taris friends have taken it into their heads to travel without permits or permission out of the fair city of Wellington. Now, how do I know that, you ask? Ah ha, sorry but I do not reveal my sources. But be assured that the source is utterly reliable.
Why do I pass on this piece of gossip? Because, my dear friends, we need to be on our guard. What outrage will be perpetrated upon us by treacherous Taris? I’m afraid, only time will tell. Let us brace ourselves for the next onslaught. Considering the history of their actions during the short time they’ve been in this country, I can only hope and pray that we will be able to get rid of them before they end up succeeding in murdering the lot of us.
Watch this space. I will report developments asap. My source is at this moment doing footslogging detective work to ferret out Who left the refugee centre, What their reason was (although it’s a certain bet that’ll be something totally spurious), and Why for heaven’s sake do they think they can take it into their heads to break one of the basic rules of the society that has taken them in at great expense and sacrifice. Didn’t Willem tell them they have to stay in Wellington until they’re deemed safe to leave? To be scrupulously fair to the Taris mob (although it kills me to do it) I have to admit that it’s quite likely he didn’t. We are happy to announce that a basic treatment has now been developed to fight the disease. Those people who are currently ill will be treated immediately. As soon as extra supplies are available, all treatment centres and hospitals will be given stockpiles so that any new cases can receive immediate medication.
The vaccine is proving more difficult to develop because of the artificial nature of the virus. It would help to know more about its manufacture. People are therefore asked to report to the nearest police station if they have any suspicions as to who might be behind the production.

Patients who have reported sick to emergency rooms have all responded to treatment and been able to return home without needing admission. Those volunteers who have worked so hard in emergency services will soon be able to return to their homes as well.
The cloud that hangs over all of us, of course, is the knowledge that some person or persons unknown has deliberately produced and released a virus designed to wreak havoc and destruction on us.
All our efforts must now go into identifying and catching this criminal element. Police Commissioner Hank Xu’s press conference this morning was lively, to say the least. When asked if he was aware of the evidence against the group from Taris he replied that police had not discovered any definite evidence against the Taris people. He got decidedly frosty when the suggestion was made that perhaps all they needed to do was check the net. Rumour and hearsay, according to him, aren’t evidence that would stand up in court.
Time perhaps will tell, but a street poll conducted by this news service shows overwhelmingly that people want the Taris group removed from the country. Many went further, expressing the strong desire to punish them severely.

Stop press!! News of Willem the Bastard!! He was kidnapped!! And you’ll never guess who was right there on the spot? Oh, you have guessed? Well, not hard, dear people, not hard to work out that Taris would be right in the middle of illegal, nefarious doings. Yes, folks, Taris strikes again, although the reason is hard to fathom – why kidnap your one and only supporter in the whole country?
Unfortunately they’d scampered back to their hidey hole early this morning before my contact could interview them. That refugee centre is a jail designed to keep the rest of us out. Once we chuck out the morons, aka our leaders, and put some right-thinking people in there instead, we can get something done about that. Number of sites whose deluded creators still support Taris, despite truckloads of evidence to the contrary: 28. Yep, that’s right. Just 28. Doesn’t that tell you something??
Stop press!! News of Willem the Bastard!! He was kidnapped!! And you’ll never guess who was right there on the spot? Oh, you have guessed? Well, not hard, dear people, not hard to work out that Taris would be right in the middle of illegal, nefarious doings. Yes, folks, Taris strikes again, although the reason is hard to fathom – why kidnap your one and only supporter in the whole country?
Unfortunately they’d scampered back to their hidey hole early this morning before my contact could interview them. That refugee centre is a jail designed to keep the rest of us out. Once we chuck out the morons, aka our leaders, and put some right-thinking people in there instead, we can get something done about that. Although with decent people in power we simply won’t have this refugee problem any longer.

Yet another outrage

Yet another Taris outrage, and this one, loyal readers, is something the police will not be able to ignore. This time Taris has gone one step too far and not been quite clever enough. Here are the facts which, I hasten to reassure you, have already been passed on to police:
One of the lot that hitched an illegal train-ride to New Plymouth had broken out of quarantine!!!
Now if that doesn’t get some official action, then we seriously need to start organising vigilante action. Watch this space.

Taris Girl Arrested
Late last night a 14-year-old Taris girl was arrested for breaching the quarantine regulations. She will appear in the Wellington High Court this morning at 11 a.m. Police are not releasing further details at present but this service is endeavouring to find out whether or not the trial will be telecast live, given the huge public interest in this group.
There is anger throughout the country this morning as news of the arrest became public. The words of a woman interviewed in Auckland sum up the feeling of the country: ‘They brought the virus. They tried to pin the blame on one of us. And now they go breaching quarantine.’
This service predicts civil unrest if the judge does not see fit to hand down the severest possible sentence. The guilty party might be only 14, but the general consensus is that she made a deliberate choice to endanger the rest of us and she’s old enough to suffer the consequences.
The National News Service will be in court reporting on the trial as it happens, with minute by minute updates on our website or streamed live to your digi-set.
